MAN Energy Solutions received an order from Isotta Fraschini Motori, a Fincantieri Company, for the supply of four MAN 16V175D-MEL IMO Tier III engines incl. SCR system.

The four engines will generate electrical power for the Italian navy's hydro-oceanographic ship (NIOM).

The MAN 175D-MEL achieves a power output of 2,640 kW at 1,500 rpm, making it the most powerful 16-cylinder highspeedgenset on the market.

The engines were selected for their ability to meet stringent emission regulations as well as elevate operational efficiency, environmental sustainability, and overall vessel performance, explains Ben Andres, Head of Medium & High Speed.

“We are immensely proud of the trust placed in us by Isotta Fraschini Motori, Fincantieri, and the Italian Navy to deliver solutions which meet their focus on environmental responsibility, reduced emissions and enhanced fuel efficiency,” he said.

The engines will be delivered in 2024.
